WATCH Eddie Vedder cover Tom Petty's "Room At The Top" at 90th Academy Awards

Eddie Vedder performed at last night’s Oscars. The Pearl Jam frontman covered Tom Petty’s “Room At The Top” for the In Memoriam portion of the show.

Vedder broke down the 1999 single to just vocals, an electric guitar, and synth strings.

“I got a room at the top of the world tonight
I can see everything tonight
I got a room where everyone
Can have a drink and forget those things
That went wrong in their life”

So people were mildly miffed that though a Tom Petty song was used for the feature, there was no actual shout out to Tom Petty.

Yeah man, Tom Petty has 142 soundtrack credits and he wrote the She’s The One soundtrack. I love that record. AND he was (briefly) in The Postman.
