“MTV Unplugged” premiered rather quietly in the fall of 1989 as an acoustic showcase, and then November 1st, 1994 happened. Recorded at the Sony Music Studios in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan, Nirvana is joined by the Germs’ Pat Smear, cellist Lori Goldston, and the Meat Puppets’ Curt Kirkwood. This was really Kurt Cobain’s show, and, sadly, his farewell.
