Doors Open Waterloo Region – The Food Bank of Waterloo Region

On Saturday, September 21, as part of Doors Open Waterloo Region, you’re invited to drop by The Food Bank of Waterloo Region’s distribution centre between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to tour the 31,000-square-foot facility.

You’ll learn how they acquire and distribute food to partners in the Community Food Assistance Network, who directly support more than 58,000 people in Waterloo region experiencing food insecurity. You’ll also have a chance to participate in a timed food sorting activity like the Great Food Sort Challenge, and try your hand at building a structure out of unopened food cans like those seen at Canstruction each year!
