Persied Meteor Shower Star Party

Just a reminder that the KW Astronomy Club is having a star party to observe the Perseid Meteor Shower this Sunday. Every year at this time the Earth passes through the tail of Comet Swift-Tuttle. This causes an increase in meteors hitting the atmosphere. Also Venus, Jupiter, Saturn and Mars will be visible. Mars is brighter now than it has been in fifteen years. No it is not going to crash in to the Earth. Not this year anyway.

The Astronomy Club is setting up telescopes on the lower sportsfield at Columbia Icefields Sports Field at the University of Waterloo. The event starts at 8 PM and is free to the public. Everyone is encouraged to bring their curiosity.
Any questions can be directed to me.
