NEWS RELEASE
HUMANE SOCIETY OF KITCHENER WATERLOO & STRATFORD PERTH
*****************************************************************************
The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo & Stratford Perth (HSKWSP) is turning to the community to support them during the busy kitten season.
“Between late spring and mid fall, we expect to receive approximately 450 adults cats and 500 kittens!” said Amanda Hawkins, Senior Manager, Animal Care at HSKWSP. “Internally, we call this period ‘the kitten season.’ Raising this many kittens is quite costly, especially if they are orphaned and are in need of kitten milk replacer formula.”
HSKWSP is hosting a variety of online events and fundraisers in June to raise the necessary funds.
“Cats and kittens don’t know we are still in a pandemic and our June events offer creative ways for our community to get involved in our fundraising efforts.” said Bryan Chatten, Manager, Events and Partnerships at HSKWSP. “This month we are participating in the Bids for Benefits online auction, partnering with Canine Colors to build a stronger bond between dog owners and their pets, offering an awesome Father’s Day BBQ Kit, and inviting our community to support us in the Great Canadian Giving Challenge.”
