Rusty Nail Comedy brings the best stand up comedians to downtown Kitchener every Friday & Saturday night. **Line ups subject to change without notice** Alex Wood :At a young age, Alex Wood is already a stand-up comedy veteran. His high energy style mixes finely tuned jokes and storytelling. He’s performed at the Montreal Just For Laughs festival twice. Once in 2009 for The Homegrown Show where he was featured in the Montreal Gazette’s “Best of the Fest” article. He made his return in 2017 taping at Kevin Hart’s “LOL Network” and was named one of the “Canadian Acts You Need to Know” by Interrobang. Alex has performed across North America and been featured on SiriusXM, CBC Radio and JFL42 in Toronto. Wood’s podcast, Alex Wood Quits Everything, saw him make appearances on NBC’s Today Show, The Toronto Star, Vice and was nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award. Jeff McEnery:Acton, Ontario’s Jeff McEnery burst onto the comedy scene by winning the prestigious “Tim Sims Encouragement Award” in 2005, “Yuk Yuk’s $25,000 Great Canadian Laugh Off” in 2006 and “Best Newcomer” at the 2007 Canadian Comedy Awards. Since then, Jeff has become a top headliner for Yuk Yuk’s and has appeared at every major Canadian comedy festival including the “Just for Laughs Comedy Festival”, “Halifax Comedy Festival”, “Winnipeg Comedy Festival”, “Hubcap Comedy Festival” in Moncton, “Cottage Country Comedy Festival” in Muskoka and “Global ComedyFest” in Vancouver. Jeff’s one hour Comedy Now! stand up special was broadcast on CTV and The Comedy Network in the summer of 2011 and he has been featured on the shows, George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight and etalk. He was nominated for “Best Male Stand Up” at the 2015 Canadian Comedy Awards. McEnery has also been involved in acting. He had a lead role in Kim Chapiron’s critically-acclaimed drama Dog Pound and shared the screen with James Franco in Camille. He was a cast member on The Comedy Network’s sketch series Hotbox and has made guest appearances on The Howie Mandel Show, Letterkenny, Covert Affairs, The Jon Dore Television Show and Naturally Sadie. As a writer, Jeff is a graduate of the Vancouver Film School’s Writing for Film and Television Program. He is a story consultant on the CBC’s Still Standing and did punch up work for The Latest Buzz. He has written and produced two short films Yes And… and Behind the Funny, which was broadcast on The Comedy Network on the show Canadian Comedy Shorts. Jeff recently obtained his green card and now splits his time between Los Angeles and Toronto.
